What is Personal Information?
In Australia, the primary privacy law is called the Privacy Act 1988. This legislation regulates the handling of personal information by Australian government agencies and businesses. It includes the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which set out the rules for the collection, use, disclosure, and storage of personal information. The Privacy Act applies to most private sector organizations, as well as some government agencies, and is enforced by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
As detailed in the Australian Privacy Act, personal information means: “information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable: whether the information or opinion is true or not; and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.”
Data We Collect

- Collected by Us: When visiting our website or utilizing our services, a specific subset of information is automatically gathered. Our servers capture technical data regarding your browser or device, which is transmitted during website visits or when advertisements are displayed or measured via our services. These server logs compile details such as web requests, internet protocol (IP) addresses or device identifiers, browser types, referring/exiting pages, and URLs, click counts, domain names, viewed pages, and similar data. Cookies are employed by us to collect this information across websites, mobile apps, and devices over time. These utilities assist in perception counting, visitor recognition, and delivering analytics on the efficacy of advertisements. Additionally, we utilize Google Analytics (or similar analytics providers) to gain insights into website usage.
- Obtained from Other Sources: We obtain data from various sources to validate locations of places individuals use, categorizing these locations (e.g., points of interest, businesses, residential, etc.) and defining their boundaries. We also obtain data via advertising networks, publicly available sources, websites, and services. Data collected includes personal data when you choose to provide it during registration (e.g., name, email, or phone number), where the decision to provide data is optional.
We may also obtain specific personal data from third parties such as email and phone details. We strive to ensure that all data is explicitly opted-in with clearly defined, legitimate use cases, to which the data subject consents, including sharing with non-affiliated third parties.
Blistering Developers does not knowingly accept, process, or sell any personal information related to minors. In the unlikely event we discover that personal information of a child under 18 has been inadvertently collected, as a leading priority, we will take immediate action to delete such data from our records.
